Helambu Villages

This route explores the area north of Kathmandu, usually for between 7 and 10 days. Helambu lies within the cirque of ridge-lines surrounding the Melamchi River. Buddhist Sherpa farmers inhabit this picturesque area which is punctuated by manui walls, prayer flags, chortens and a gompa at Tharkegyang.

This is ideal for trekkers who want a fine trek with a diversity of culture, and good, if more distant, mountain views. It is often under-rated as an area for short treks but it comes highly recommended.
