Lamjung Himal
The 6700 7000 meters eastern ourliners of the Annapurna
range are known as Lamjumg Himal. The Marshyangdi River flowing
down from Maanangbhot in the north, carves a gorge through the
main Himalayan range and separates the Annapurna from the Manaslu
/ Himalchuli massif.
Treks to Lamjung Himal typically take 12 to 18 days and offer
good high pastures and lakes - with memorable views across the
Marshyangdi to Manaslu and its satellites.
The region has all the advantages of easy acess from Pokhara
and the spectacular Annapurna skyline but lying remote from the
popular northern trails, it has remained virtually untrekked.
Below Lamjung there is an area know as "Fairy Meadows"
which provides an ideal base for exploration and scrambles up
onto a great array small peaks of 4878 5183 meters and
also some very beautiful lakes tucked into the corner of Lamjung
massif.
