There is no doubt that Swayambhunath is one of the most popular attractions in Nepal. It is located almost 3 kms. west from Kathmandu City.

It is believed that this glorious Buddhist Chaitya is 2000 years old and that it marks the resting place of a great sage.

The temple grounds are inhabited by monkeys and from here, there are spectacular views of Kathmandu and the valley below.
