One of the oldest and most famous temples located in Bhaktapur is the Dattatreya Temple.

The name Dattatreya means the combined form of "Brahma" the creator and "Vishnu" the operator.

As this temple is dedicated to both "Brahma" and "Vishnu", the three-headed image in the sanctum of this temple accordingly provides a glimpse of these gods.
