Kathmandu Valley

Few people trek within or around the Kathmandu Valley. Yet it offers a rich insight into the lives, history, culture and religion in Nepal - against the backdrop of daily toil in the fields. The valley rim lies around 2500 m above sea level and in the spring offers early flowering rhododendrons and wonderful mountain vistas through the autumn and winter months.

On a good day, you can see from the Annapurna range in the west to Everest in the east. Various walks ranging from a day's hike to 6 days can be organized.

These walks can also be combined with overnights in the resorts of Dhulikhel, Nagarkot and Godavari - famed as excellent vantage points for the valley - particularly at sunset and sunrise.
