In 1999 John Silvester and Alun Hughes embarked on a life-changing
journey - to traverse Nepal's Himalayas by paraglider. Two men,
a video camera and a variometer sat suspended as they climbed
thousands of metres up above the peaks and valleys of Nepal.
Their adventure combined healthy surges of adrenalin with smooth (and not so smooth) landings in remote settlements of western Nepal
to the astonishment and fascination of communities living far
away from roads, power lines and other features of modern life.
The video they made of their journey gives a fascinating insight
into how it must have felt as they passed through 'tense' moments
and experienced 'extreme' wild flying. You can find out more
