Bhutan uses the Ngultrum currency which is pegged to the Indian Rupee. Indian rupees are widely accepted in Bhutan and other hard currencies but not Nepalese Rupees. Currency exchange services are available throughout the main centres in the Bhutanese capital, Thimpu as well as in Paro and other major centres. Visa and MasterCard are accepted in the main centres.
