Welcome. The Digital Bridge Project was founded in 1999 with the long term aim of reducing the technological and economic inequalities between Nepal and the outside world. It is funded by providing web site design, hosting space, domain names etc. to small companies in the UK (at competitive rates) and small companies in Nepal (at nominal rates). The logic being that transferring IT and marketing skills from the UK to Nepal's tourism sector sustainably, offers the most promising route to develop Nepal's foreign earnings.

The project provides advice, web services etc to hotels, travel operators and exporters in Nepal to enable them to trade directly with customers through the web. Foreign travellers and Nepali companies get optimal value by cutting out the 'middle men' enabling more foreign revenues to reach Nepal. The project provides free tuition to Nepalis seeking to develop their web writing, graphic design and programming skills. The project is run by volunteers in equal partnership in the UK and Nepal. Eighty percent of surplus revenues are reinvested and 20% go to fund equipment etc for schools in rural Nepal.
