A Cultural Village Tour, Trip to the Elephant Breeding Camp plus performances of Tharu folk dance and music are all included in our basic package tour. The Tharu ethnic tribe are the oldest known settlers at Chitwan and continue to maintain their traditional ways of life - barely touched by modern civilisation. Tharu folk songs are enchanting in themselves but these are combined with the 'stick dance' - which originated in ancient tribal preparations for war and which displays a stunning level of agility and athleticism.
