Popular Options for Rafting

Nepal is blessed with some of the wildest and most spectacular rivers in the world. The combination of beautiful mountain scenery, exhilarating white water rapids, warm water and fascinating cultural opportunities make Nepal one of the premier destinations for river runners. The best time to come rafting is around September to early December or between March and June. This is when the weather is best and the water is the warmest. We can arrange exciting rafting trips on the Himalayan rivers of Nepal lasting from one to several days and you can combine these with other activities such as trekking and jungle safaris. We run most of our rafting trips on the Trisuli and Bhote Koshi rivers (grade 3+ and 4-5, respectively - depending on season).

Each package includes expert guides, meals, transportation, helmets & safety jackets. Trips with overnight stops also include tents and mattresses. Our guides are experienced rafters who have run all the rivers we offer and have the skills to provide you with a safe and enjoyable trip. They give an initial training lecture and then the guide in each raft instructs on paddling and picking out the safest route on the river.

If your schedule allows, we recommend choosing a trip which involves at least one overnight stay because then our porters can set up camp on soft white sand banks near the river whilst you have a rest or a swim. Then you can enjoy a tasty meal prepared by our cook and relax with the sounds of river life as night falls. There's nothing like it. Camping trips require a minimum group of 6 to 8 people and it is usually easy to make up the numbers during the season since we have many trips setting out each week.
